Compared to other families in the wine world, my adoptive family - Cape Point Vineyards - is quite young. Their first vintage was in 2000! “New money!” as my Uncle Toad would splutter, but even he admits that they are jolly good. If you look at my family tree, I think you will agree that I have quite an impressive pedigree. It doesn't bother me that I am rather unique compared to the rest of my family.  Even my Uncle Toad knows that we all deserve some fun! 

As for myself, I belong to a very special species: the Western Leopard Toad. We may be rare and endangered, but we have size and beauty on our side. We even have a website solely dedicated to us: www.leopardtoad.co.za !

My toad friends and I are also rather lucky to have found sanctuary at Cape Point Vineyards. The two ponds at the entrance to the wine estate are among the most important breeding sites in the Cape Point region. And now they have dedicated this wine to us and set up a fund to support our future conservation. Not bad, eh?
